Adding Items To A Sales Order By Model

Add items to a Sales Order using the Auto Fill feature to enable you to create Sales Orders based on an entire Model, and view all the parts within a required Model.  A Model is an item that includes various components. E.g., a Radio-kit that includes 4 different parts.  Customers may have once ordered a Radio-kit, and at a later date may require ordering additional parts (components) for the original Radio-kit.

Before adding a Model to a Sales Order, verify the Models have been created.

Note:

Models are defined in the menu: Product Engineering Configurator in the Configuration Management form.

 

  1. From the Sales Order Detail TAB, click Configure.  The SO Model form is displayed:

Auto Fill (Add Item To A Sales Order By Model)

  1. From the Select Model # field drop-down list, select the required Model, e.g., Radio Kit.  All the components within the model are listed in the bottom pane.

  2. In the Quantity field enter the number of models in total required by the Customer.

  3. Select the relevant Components Qty option:

Select the From Configuration List option and then one of the Order Pricing and Lines Options, as described below

Or

Select the Multiple By Parent Qty if you wish to automatically multiply the number of components within the order by the value in the Quantity field, and then select one of the Order Pricing and Lines Options, as described below.

  1. From the Pricing / Lines Options select one of the following options:

Parent Only (Total of Selected Components + Model Price)

If selected, the Sales Order displays the Model and its total price inclusive of each Component. For example:

  1. Select part number Radio Kit, which automatically includes 4 different components as displayed in the screen above.

  2. In the Quantity field, enter the Quantity of Models required.

  3. Select this option "Model Only".  On selecting this option, the system prompts:

"No Lines Selected, Click Yes to Add Model Only. Click No to Cancel"

  1. Click Yes, the Model including all the components is added to the Sales Order.

Parents and Lines listed individually

If selected, the Sales Order displays the Model in one line that includes all the components, and each additional component required in a separate line.  This enables the customer to order whole Models, as well as parts, and view each component's price separately.  For example:

  1. Select part  number Radio Kit, the components are listed in the bottom pane.

  2. In the Quantity field, enter the Quantity of Models required.

  3. From the list of components, select the check boxes next to the components required by the Customer.  

or

Select the Select All Components checkbox to select all Components within the Model.

  1. In the Quantity column, next to each component enter the number of required components.

Parent Price Include Lines, Lines=0

If selected, the Sales Order displays the Model and the price per unit automatically including the price of the components ordered. The Components are displayed in separate lines and the Unit price displays 0, as the price for each separate component is included in the total price of the Model record.  For example:

  1. Select the part number, e.g., Radio Kit

  2. In the Quantity field, enter the Quantity of Models required.

  1. From the list of components, select the check boxes next to the components required by the Customer.  

or

Select the Select All Components checkbox to select all Components within the Model.

  1. In the Quantity column, next to each component enter the number of required components.

Selected Lines Only

If selected, the Sales Order displays each Component on a different line with the price per component. This option enables Customers to order specific parts within a Model.  For example:

  1. Select the part number, e.g., Radio Kit.

  2. Enter a value in the Quantity field, as it must be greater than 0.

  1. From the list of components, select the check boxes next to the components required by the Customer.

or

Select the Select All Components checkbox to select all Components within the Model.

  1. In the Quantity column enter the number of components required for each selected component.

Note:

If you selected the Multiply By Parent Qty option and are ordering all the components within the model, and in the Quantity field, you enter for example, 4 the number of components selected is automatically multiplied by 4.

  1. Click Apply to save.
